"Everything is on track" for Algarve to host Dakar in 2027

The Algarve is set to host the prologue and the start of the Dakar Rally in 2027, according to André Gomes from Algarve Tourism. Official confirmation is expected soon, following discussions with the Automobile Club of Portugal. The event aims to establish the Estádio Algarve as the central hub for the rally, with the prologue location yet to be determined. This marks a return of the Dakar to Portugal after 19 years, as the rally will not take place in Saudi Arabia in 2027 due to regional conflicts. The Dakar Rally, initiated in 1979, has a rich history of various routes before moving to South America.
