Tusk says there is no compromise solution to the Polish Constitutional Tribunal crisis

Donald Tusk, the Polish Prime Minister, dismissed the possibility of a compromise regarding the constitutional court crisis, accusing opposition figures of undermining democracy. He stated that the court established by the previous government is not legitimate and labeled opposition forces as pro-Russian. Tusk emphasized his duty to ensure the court's operations align with the constitution. The situation escalated when Anna Korwin Piotrowska claimed leadership of the court, suspending its president and vice-president, which sparked legal disputes over her legitimacy. Police presence increased around the court amid tensions, with government officials criticizing Tusk for exacerbating the conflict instead of seeking resolution. Calls for the court's reactivation were made, with some suggesting it could only happen after Tusk's government is replaced.
