Two firefighters lightly injured in house fire Amsterdam
This morning in Amsterdam, two firefighters were injured while extinguishing a house fire that broke out in a residential building. The fire was discovered around 5:30 AM in the attic of a building on Columbusstraat. Twelve nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution. The injured firefighters were affected by the heat penetrating their gear but did not require hospitalization. By 9:00 AM, the fire was under control, although it was challenging to extinguish due to its location within walls. Residents of the evacuated homes were temporarily housed in a nearby supermarket, and the extent of fire and water damage is significant. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
