Two men arrested again for alleged assistance to Iran regarding incident at Fairford airbase
Two men have been re-arrested in the UK for allegedly assisting Iranian intelligence related to an incident at Fairford airbase. Previously arrested on terrorism-related charges, they were released on bail. The arrests are part of an investigation into events at the airbase in late September, where five men were seen driving suspicious vehicles. The head of the national counter-terrorism police indicated that Iranian state involvement is likely. Following the incident, the US withdrew bombers from the base.
