Two Dutchmen arrested in Colombia for cocaine trafficking
Two Dutch men, aged 36 and 65, were arrested in Colombia at the request of the Dutch Public Prosecution Service for their involvement in large-scale cocaine trafficking. The arrests occurred in Cali and Medellín and are linked to separate investigations initiated earlier this year. The younger suspect was reportedly involved in loading containers and selling cocaine, while the older man handled administrative tasks related to the drug trade. Both suspects used the encrypted messaging service Sky ECC, which led to their identification by Dutch authorities. Colombian media indicate they acted as intermediaries between European criminal organizations and Colombian drug trafficking. The investigation is ongoing, and decisions regarding their extradition to the Netherlands are pending.
