EU points to lack of negotiation openness to Lavrov who reiterates conditions

European Union officials criticized Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov for showing no willingness to negotiate regarding Ukraine during the G20 meeting. Lavrov reiterated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky must come to Moscow for a meeting with President Vladimir Putin. Ukraine proposed a meeting to discuss ending the conflict but rejected Moscow as the venue. The G20 foreign ministers' meeting in Atlanta is addressing geopolitical crises and economic disruptions. Kaja Kallas, the EU's foreign policy chief, stated that Lavrov did not indicate any openness to negotiations, while Lavrov accused the EU of interfering in the negotiations. Tensions escalated when European ministers refused to pose for a group photo with Lavrov, leading to the cancellation of the photo opportunity.
