Airbnb introduces new rules, guests can no longer be required to do the dishes

Airbnb has introduced new rules limiting cleaning tasks hosts can require from guests. Hosts can no longer ask guests to strip beds, wash dishes, or take out trash. According to the updated guidelines, hosts can set seven general house rules and additional reasonable requests, but guests are not expected to perform tasks that require significant time or effort. Exceptions may apply in areas facing water shortages. The new rules will be more prominently displayed, and guests will see them in booking reminders. This change applies to bookings made on or after November 20. Hosts can still set their own rules but cannot impose fines on guests. Local governments banning Airbnb may inadvertently encourage illegal rentals, as stricter regulations often lead to more unregulated listings.
