The hackers have reactivated the refrigerators and freezers in dozens of European supermarkets
A recent cyberattack targeted supermarket chains in Sweden, Belgium, and Luxembourg, raising the temperatures of refrigeration units. The Swedish Coop reported that six of its stores were affected, while ICA confirmed multiple impacted locations. Ahold Delhaize noted that dozens of its Belgian and Luxembourgian supermarkets were involved. Technicians worked overnight to disconnect affected equipment. This incident follows a similar attack in France, where hackers gained control over refrigeration units in around 700 supermarkets, leading to significant food waste and financial losses.
