European stores have restarted their refrigerators, a cyberattack may be behind it
Several supermarket chains in Sweden, Belgium, and Luxembourg have reported rising temperatures in their refrigeration systems, raising concerns of a cyberattack similar to one in France. The Swedish Coop chain confirmed issues affecting six stores, while Ahold Delhaize noted an IT incident impacting its stores in Luxembourg and Belgium. Investigations are ongoing, and the extent of damage remains unclear. The U.S. military is also looking into a related incident from August involving malfunctioning refrigerators at bases across 11 states. Previous attacks in France resulted in significant food losses and financial damage.
