UK announces 'biggest ever' Ukraine support package of $13 billion in 2027

The U.K. plans to provide over £10 billion in support for Ukraine by 2027, as announced by Finance Minister John Healey. This funding is part of the U.K. budget and aims to assist Ukraine amid ongoing pressures for increased financial aid. Prime Minister Andy Burnham emphasized the significance of this package, marking it as the largest commitment from the U.K. to Ukraine. President Zelensky praised the announcement, highlighting its importance during a critical time for Ukraine. The support includes financial guarantees, military aid, and energy infrastructure assistance, addressing Ukraine's projected €70 billion shortfall for 2027. Norway has also pledged $9 billion, with hopes for further contributions from Canada and discussions ongoing within the EU regarding additional support options.
