Łukasz Gibała keeps his promise. Six departments disappear from the city hall
Łukasz Gibała, the new mayor of Kraków, has eliminated several departments established by his predecessor, aiming to reduce costs and streamline operations. The departments dissolved include education, communal affairs, and social policy. Existing units will now take over their responsibilities, leading to an estimated annual saving of 2.3 million PLN. The restructuring comes amid a budget deficit of nearly 400 million PLN, prompting the new administration to analyze finances and seek solutions without loans. Gibała was sworn in on October 20, following a referendum that removed the previous mayor, Aleksander Miszalski.
