Łukasz Gibała dismissed five representatives of the President of Kraków. The city is looking for savings
Kraków's new mayor, Łukasz Gibała, has dismissed five city commissioners linked to the previous administration as part of ongoing reforms aimed at reducing costs. The dismissed officials include those responsible for climate, culture, equality policy, senior citizens, and academic cooperation. Gibała has also eliminated six departments established by his predecessor and plans to cut his own salary to the legal minimum. He aims to reduce the operating costs of the mayor's office by 30% by 2027. Gibała was elected after a referendum removed the former mayor, Aleksander Miszalski, and he received over 62% of the vote in the second round against Monika Piątkowska.
