He stole shoes from the store and went to the police station in them

A shoe store employee in Ełk reported a theft of shoes worth 449 PLN. A young man took advantage of the staff's distraction to leave the store wearing new shoes while leaving his old ones behind. While waiting to file the report, the employee recognized the stolen shoes on a man at the police station, who had come to use the breathalyzer. It turned out he was the thief and was also wanted for a previous offense. He was arrested and taken to jail wearing his old shoes.
