Ukraine awaits Patriot missiles. Deliveries not expected for several years, Zelensky appeals
Ukrainian President Zelensky emphasized the urgent need for defense against Russian attacks, following the U.S. State Department's approval of 500 PAC-3 missiles. He called on Western allies to expedite the delivery of available missiles from their stockpiles, as the approved missiles will not be delivered until 2030. Zelensky highlighted that both the U.S. and European nations have sufficient missiles that could be sent immediately. The U.S. has around 800 Patriot missiles left, and Zelensky warned that Ukraine may need up to 100 missiles monthly this winter to defend effectively. The delay in deliveries could significantly impact Ukraine's defense capabilities in the coming months.
