Ukraine: in the occupied city of Olechky, the start of a risky operation to save trapped civilians

Russia and Ukraine have agreed to a temporary ceasefire around Olechky to facilitate a humanitarian mission for trapped civilians. The ceasefire, effective from October 27 to November 1, aims to assist 1,700 to 2,000 residents in need of aid and evacuation. Olechky has been under Russian control since February 2022 and has faced severe shortages of food, water, and electricity. Civilians have been living in dire conditions, with many attempting to flee despite the dangers of mines and drone attacks.
