A detainee in Germany suspected of setting fire to Hitler's 'Eagle's Nest'
A suspect has been arrested in southern Germany following a fire at the Kehlsteinhaus, known as Hitler's 'Eagle's Nest'. The fire, which is believed to be deliberate, broke out on Friday night and has involved around 200 firefighters. The chalet, completed in 1938, was used by Hitler to host foreign diplomats. Although the fire is still not fully extinguished, no injuries have been reported. The police have taken over the investigation into the cause of the fire. The building, largely damaged, was a historical site and had been operating as a restaurant and summer lodge since 1952, featuring exhibitions on Nazi crimes.
