A judge extends the voting hours for the presidential elections in Brazil

A Brazilian Supreme Court judge extended the voting hours for the presidential elections by two hours, responding to a request from President Lula's campaign. The electoral authority suspended the vote count until the extended hours were completed, amid allegations of restricted public transport access in several cities. Lula, leading with 57.6% of the votes against Bolsonaro's 42.3%, criticized local authorities for violating electoral norms. Bolsonaro also requested the extension due to adverse weather conditions. Approximately 160 million Brazilians were set to vote in this closely contested election.
