A new cyberattack causes millions in losses at dozens of supermarkets in Belgium and Sweden after raising the temperature of the refrigerators
A recent cyberattack has caused significant losses in supermarkets across Belgium and Sweden by remotely raising the temperature of refrigeration units. The Swedish chain ICA reported that several stores experienced this attack, resulting in spoiled goods. Over 40 Ahold Dehaize stores in Belgium and multiple Carrefour and Spar locations were also affected. This incident follows a similar attack in France that damaged around 700 supermarkets. The temperature increase led to millions of euros in losses and even minor fires in some cases. The Pentagon is investigating related refrigeration failures at U.S. military bases, which may share a similar pattern.
