A stroll in Raincy, from the concrete church to the green corridor

The Raincy, a town in Seine-Saint-Denis, is known for its affluent character and elegant architecture. Established in the 19th century, it features green avenues and notable buildings, including the unique Notre-Dame-de-Consolation church. This church, completed in 1923, is the first in the world made entirely of reinforced concrete, designed by architects Auguste and Gustave Perret. Its striking 43-meter bell tower is a prominent feature in the eastern Paris skyline. The church's bronze tympanum, created from a design by sculptor Antoine Bourdelle, was added in 1999 after budget constraints initially prevented its installation during the church's inauguration.
