The Universidade Sénior Albicastrense (USALBI) has started the new academic year with 1,670 students, marking a 7.5% increase from the previous year. Of these, 770 attend classes at the main campus in Castelo Branco, while 900 are enrolled in various local centers. The USALBI, supported by the Amato Lusitano Association, emphasizes the importance of education for seniors, offering 40 subjects taught by 48 teachers. This year, two new courses, chess and play yoga, have been added to enhance cognitive development and well-being. The initiative aims to combat isolation and promote health among the elderly community, reinforcing education as a lifelong right and opportunity.
