Fallen city. "It is an extreme example"

Detroit, once a thriving city with 1.85 million residents, has seen its population decline to around 650,000 by 2025. Economic shifts and the automotive industry's decline led to significant outmigration, particularly during the 2007-2008 recession. Although the city filed for bankruptcy in 2013, recent years have shown a slight population increase, mainly due to immigrants and young professionals. Improvements in city services post-bankruptcy have made Detroit more livable, yet many neighborhoods remain abandoned and neglected. Artist Tyree Guyton's Heidelberg Project aims to inspire hope and change perceptions through art in these struggling areas. Despite some revitalization efforts, the city's recovery is slow and uneven, with vast areas still in disrepair.
