Urbisjovem requests a hearing with Seguro to resolve the crisis

A Urbisjovem, a new housing cooperative for youth, seeks a meeting with the President of Portugal to discuss affordable housing solutions. The cooperative aims to revive the cooperative movement, which they believe is currently neglected. José Arruda, the president, emphasizes the importance of involving young people in housing decisions and proposes various construction alternatives. Established in March, Urbisjovem is working with municipalities to secure land for affordable housing projects. They focus on controlled-cost housing rather than social housing, targeting the middle class. Arruda acknowledges past management issues in cooperatives but stresses the need for government support to revitalize this sector.
