Urso meets in London with British Minister Reynolds: "Great Britain a strategic partner"

The UK's rapprochement with the EU involves Italy's support for London's participation in the Made in Europe initiative. During a meeting in London, Italian Minister Adolfo Urso emphasized Italy's view of the UK as a strategic partner, contingent on reciprocity. The UK expressed concerns about being disadvantaged by the EU's protective industrial policies and is willing to make concessions, including on youth mobility. Discussions will continue at the upcoming UK-EU summit in Brussels. Urso noted that while an agreement is unlikely soon, Italy supports the UK's pro-EU shift under Prime Minister Andy Burnham. The talks covered various sectors, including defense and green steel production, highlighting Italy's growing attractiveness for foreign investments amid global challenges.
