USA closes military base gates to BYD. Chinese cars under scrutiny

South Korea's Yonhap agency reported that new regulations banning Chinese vehicles from military bases will take effect on October 26. Kadena Air Base, a key U.S. military installation in East Asia, cited unacceptable risks posed by these vehicles. The Pentagon has previously listed companies like BYD as supporting the Chinese military, leading to legal actions from BYD. Similar restrictions have been implemented in Poland, where Chinese vehicles are banned from military sites due to security concerns regarding data collection capabilities. Tesla vehicles are also included in these bans, reflecting broader security apprehensions about foreign-made vehicles.
