Abortion laws passed. Krzysztof Szczucki: this is the mandate I received from my voters
On Tuesday, the Polish Parliament voted on amendments to the Penal Code regarding partial decriminalization of abortion and allowing abortion in cases of severe fetal defects. Krzysztof Szczucki from the Development Plus party explained his opposition to the latter proposal, citing constitutional concerns. He emphasized that decisions were made individually by members of his party without strict discipline. Paweł Śliz from the Polska 2050 club supported the return to an abortion compromise, highlighting the need to balance different sensitivities. Szczucki expressed empathy for women facing difficult situations but maintained that he must vote according to his conscience and constitutional beliefs, stating he received a mandate from his voters.
