A moose running in the streets brightened the Sunday morning for the people of Debrecen
Residents of Debrecen encountered a moose on Sunday, with images and videos shared in local Facebook groups. Moose are not native to Hungary, making this sighting surprising. Historically, they lived in the Carpathian Basin before the Middle Ages, likely migrating from Northern Poland or Slovakia. During early October, moose typically reduce their vocalizations, but this individual may not have received that message, as they sometimes wander into populated areas. This is not the first moose sighting; earlier in the month, one was filmed near Nyírség, resembling the Debrecen moose.
