Attack on police during demonstrations investigated in France as attempted murder
The Paris prosecutor's office is investigating a Saturday incident during protests as attempted murder after a Molotov cocktail was thrown at police. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez labeled the attack serious. Hundreds of thousands protested across France against rising living costs and education issues for the third consecutive week. Approximately 15 police officers were targeted, with injuries reported. A total of 105 arrests were made in Paris, with 779 nationwide. Protest participation decreased significantly compared to previous weeks, with 291 protests recorded. The protests began as a student movement addressing school conditions and have since expanded to include various groups dissatisfied with President Macron.
