In Moldova, the National Security Council will meet after a large-scale cyber attack
Moldova's National Security Council will convene to address a significant cyberattack on government information systems that occurred from October 19 to 23. The attack compromised personal data linked to around one million identification numbers, with approximately 750,000 records stolen. President Maia Sandu called the meeting to assess the situation and determine countermeasures. The stolen data includes birth dates, health information, and financial details, raising concerns about potential fraud. Prime Minister Vasile Tofan suggested that foreign state actors might be involved, and the director of the Electronic Government Agency was dismissed for inadequate security measures.
