A house with a view of Barbora and old vaults. The architect revived a 14th-century building

Architect Jana Zadák spent five years restoring a historic house in Kutná Hora, transforming it into a hotel while preserving its history. The hotel features contemporary art and unique room designs that reflect the building's past. Zadák aimed to create a space that showcases the city's heritage without resembling a museum. The renovation revealed hidden architectural elements, and each of the nine rooms has its own character, enhanced by custom furniture and art installations. The project intertwined with her family life, as she welcomed two more children during the process. Ultimately, she values the imperfect nature of the project, emphasizing the lessons learned throughout the journey.
