There are fears, but Hungarian medium and small enterprises are awaiting the euro
A majority of Hungarian SMEs support the introduction of the euro, with 67% in favor and only 15% opposed. Concerns mainly revolve around market risks rather than technical issues. Many businesses fear increased price comparability and competition from foreign firms. Currently, two-thirds of SMEs conduct transactions in euros, which strengthens the demand for its introduction. In the short term, only 36% expect positive outcomes, but this rises to 64% over a three to five-year horizon.
