The National Sports Radio will cease to exist from Sunday

The National Sports Radio will cease operations on November 1 due to economic unsustainability, as announced by the National Media and Infocommunications Authority. The request for cancellation came from the service provider, MRTV Nonprofit Zrt., which the media council approved. The radio, launched on June 14, 2024, covered various sports events but faced leadership changes earlier this year. Additionally, Manna FM will rebrand as Sunrise FM on November 5, and the media council aims to create a more independent public media. The council also plans to establish new cooperation with European media regulation bodies and emphasizes restoring trust in journalism.
