Vasco da Gama fails in the final of the South American Cup

Vasco da Gama was eliminated from the Copa Sudamericana after losing 3-1 to Boca Juniors in the semifinals. Despite winning the first leg in Argentina, the Brazilian team fell behind with two goals from Boca before equalizing through Puma Rodríguez. However, Leandro Paredes secured Boca's qualification late in the match. Coach Pedro Emanuel expressed disappointment, acknowledging Boca's strong international record. This marks Vasco's best performance in the tournament since reaching the semifinals in 2011, and they last reached a South American final in 1998. Boca Juniors will compete in the final for the third time, having previously won in 2004 and 2005.
