Livestock trailer with 200 pigs overturns in Eibergen

This morning in Eibergen, Gelderland, a truck carrying 200 pigs overturned, causing some pigs to end up on the road. Several animals did not survive the incident, while the driver was unharmed. The accident occurred on Groenloseweg when the truck lost control on a roundabout. Emergency services managed to capture the escaped pigs and directed them to a nearby fenced grass area. The fire department is still working to rescue the remaining pigs from the overturned vehicle. A veterinarian is on-site to assess the animals' condition, and there is a possibility that some may need to be euthanized. The plan is to transfer all surviving pigs to another truck.
