Venezuela attacked the camp of a Colombian rebel organization. Several people died in the bombing.
The Venezuelan army launched its first attack on a camp of the Colombian guerrilla group ELN, resulting in several deaths. The bombing occurred in the Apure state, with reports indicating at least nine fatalities. Local residents confirmed that the victims were ELN members, and there is significant fear in the area due to pressure from armed groups. The region is also home to other armed factions, including dissident groups from FARC, competing for drug trafficking and illegal mining revenues. The ELN is now considered the strongest active guerrilla organization in South America after the disarmament of most FARC units.
