United Kingdom will rejoin Erasmus+ from January 1st

The UK will rejoin the Erasmus+ program starting January 1, 2027, allowing students to study in the EU. This decision follows a previous agreement made during an EU-UK summit in May 2022, aimed at strengthening ties with the EU. Applications for students wishing to study or gain work experience in the EU will open in November. The UK had previously exited the Erasmus program in 2020 due to Brexit, replacing it with the Turing Scheme, which has since been halted. The UK government anticipates that around 100,000 British students will benefit annually, with a projected contribution of approximately £570 million for the 2027-2028 academic year.
