Blocked gutter floods rehearsal space in Meise and nearly causes roof collapse: "Small disaster averted"
Members of the choir De Meisekes in Meise narrowly avoided a disaster when rainwater accumulated on the flat roof due to a blocked gutter, causing leaks. The municipality acted quickly to resolve the potential collapse risk. The mayor reported that about 10 centimeters of water had collected, stressing the roof's structure. Tennis balls were found blocking the gutter, which was cleared to allow drainage. A drying machine was installed, and future preventive measures, including an additional drainage system, will be implemented. The damage was mainly to the wooden floor and soundproof curtains, but no injuries occurred, and the rehearsal space is expected to reopen soon.
