Video games. Police signal addresses used for radicalization
The Portuguese Judicial Police identified 54 online gaming addresses linked to extremist content in less than a month. This operation, part of a coordinated effort with Europol involving 16 countries, flagged over 9,000 links to violent extremist and terrorist content across various online gaming platforms. In Portugal, the identified content was primarily associated with the True Crime Community, featuring simulations of terrorist attacks and glorification of attackers. Additionally, extremist-themed avatars were found in Roblox, along with a Discord invitation promoting migration from TikTok to a dedicated community. The PJ warns that these activities could lead to coordinated propaganda and recruitment efforts targeting youth.
