Five injured on a rudderless cargo ship north of Schiermonnikoog

A cargo ship named UHL Freedom became unmanageable in a storm near Schiermonnikoog, resulting in five injuries among its crew. The Dutch Coast Guard airlifted two injured crew members to a hospital in Groningen. The ship, which is 150 meters long and registered under the Portuguese flag, was anchored but began drifting due to a dragging anchor. Winds reached speeds of 80 km/h, with waves nearly six meters high. The cause of the injuries remains unclear, and rescue boats are en route to assist the vessel, although it may take hours for them to arrive.
