Viktor Orban at the head of the UN? Media: He is to be the candidate of the USA, Russia, and China

The Wall Street Journal reports that Hungary's former Prime Minister Viktor Orban is being considered as a candidate for UN Secretary-General, backed by the US, Russia, and China. Orban could secure at least eight votes in the Security Council, needing nine for a recommendation. Despite concerns about his alignment with authoritarian leaders, he is seen as a favored candidate among certain conservative factions. His candidacy may be announced after the US elections on November 3. Other candidates include UAE's Lana Nusseibeh, but Orban's approach is characterized as more assertive compared to typical bureaucratic candidates.
