Dávid Vitézy admitted he was too optimistic about the October launch of the Budapest-Belgrade railway line

David Vitézy acknowledged that he was overly optimistic about the launch date for domestic passenger traffic on the Budapest–Belgrade railway. He revealed that the administrative processes took longer than expected. The main challenge was aligning the Chinese train control system with strict European standards. Although he previously indicated that domestic services could start in late October, this has not yet occurred. Transportation expert Gergely Andó mentioned that railway workers have been assigned to the line by November 7, suggesting that operations could begin then. The railway project, costing around 800 billion forints, aims to improve daily commuting for residents south of the capital.
