Volkswagen recalls over 70,000 electric vehicles. Fire risk due to faulty batteries
Volkswagen is recalling over 70,000 electric vehicles globally due to faulty batteries that could potentially cause fires. The recall affects models ID.3, ID.4, ID.7, ID. Buzz, and Cupra's Born. Internal checks revealed quality issues linked to supplier manufacturing errors. Although no incidents of damage or injury have been reported, owners are advised to charge their vehicles to a maximum of 80% until the batteries are inspected. This follows a previous recall of millions of cars due to steering issues. Volkswagen is facing various challenges, including high costs and increased competition, prompting plans for a major restructuring.
