There were a few crazy days in the domestic real estate market, but now everything has calmed down.
In the last week of the Otthon Start program, the Hungarian real estate market saw a significant surge in interest, with a 38% increase in inquiries compared to average days in September. This spike was attributed to the impending changes in the program's regulations, prompting many potential buyers to act quickly. The peak interest occurred on October 28, with a 41% rise in calls compared to expected levels without the announcement of the program's end. Following this surge, a decrease in inquiries was noted, indicating a pull-forward effect. Starting November 1, the new Wekerle Plusz program will replace Otthon Start, with expectations of further market adjustments and a gradual return to stability by 2027.
