Adults are indeed more creative than children, but children start their drawing with more enjoyment.

Research indicates that adults are indeed more creative than children, but children approach creative tasks with greater enjoyment and confidence. A study involving 70 adults and 93 children revealed that while adults produced more effective and generally creative drawings, children displayed higher originality and enthusiasm. The adults' creativity was often hindered by self-imposed expectations, whereas children viewed creative tasks as playful activities. Despite adults scoring higher in certain creative assessments, children's confidence and enjoyment in creativity were notably higher. The findings challenge the common belief that adults lose their childhood creativity, suggesting that educational environments can enhance creativity rather than diminish it.
