Vox demands that the PP have its own group in the Senate and a leading role in Catalonia

Vox demands a separate parliamentary group in the Senate and a significant role in Catalonia as conditions for a pre-electoral agreement with the PP. They are willing to refrain from running in provinces where they have no chance of winning, like Girona, to prevent a leftist victory. Vox currently has three senators and needs six to form a group, which could be achieved with support from the PP. The PP is considering not presenting candidates in provinces where they have historically not won, such as the four Catalan provinces. However, both parties compete for the same conservative electorate in Catalonia, complicating negotiations. Vox aims to leverage its position in Ceuta, where it previously won a senator, while also pushing for a stronger alliance with the PP against the PSOE.
