Truck with breakdown on A67 turns out to be carrying stolen load of toothbrushes

Last week, the Royal Marechaussee discovered a stolen cargo of electric toothbrushes and razors valued at €90,000 in a truck on the A67 near Venlo. The goods had been stolen earlier that night from another truck. On October 12-13, Marechaussee officers noticed a truck parked on the emergency lane at the Zaarderheiken junction. When they approached to offer assistance, the driver and passenger fled, leaving the truck running. A search for the suspects was unsuccessful. The truck was later moved to a secure location, revealing false French license plates. The stolen goods were confirmed to have been taken from another truck in Venlo that same night. The truck, trailer, and cargo were seized and declared forfeited due to lack of official registration. The rightful owner has reported the theft and has received the stolen items back.
