Own energy under control. Investments in RES strengthen the resilience of the industry
Poland is developing thermal waste treatment plants to manage municipal waste and provide low-emission energy. The Krakow facility processed over 218,000 tons of waste in 2025, generating significant electricity and heat. The Ministry of Energy supports these initiatives, projecting an increase in waste-to-energy capacity by 2040. However, emissions from waste incineration remain a concern, especially with EU regulations coming into effect. JTI Polska is investing in renewable energy, including a solar farm to reduce reliance on external energy sources, demonstrating that environmental goals can align with business needs.
