In Poland, they are building a road giant. It has consumed more steel than the Eiffel Tower.
A significant section of the S19 expressway is under construction in Podkarpacie, featuring a high viaduct that surpasses the Eiffel Tower in steel usage. The project, part of the Via Carpatia route, has faced challenges due to the hilly terrain, requiring innovative construction methods. The first phase has utilized over 16,500 m³ of concrete and 860 tons of steel, with the entire structure measuring 1,082 meters long and 29 meters wide. Completion is expected by the end of next year, with the full route operational by 2028, pending additional segments.
