Wallaby Skippy has been on the loose in Waregem for over a week: who has spotted him?
Inhabitants of Waregem have spotted a wallaby named Skippy, which escaped during a storm at the end of October. Owner Timothy Maes reported that Skippy and another wallaby, Skibo, escaped when a tree fell on their enclosure. While Skibo was recaptured shortly after, Skippy remains missing. He has been seen in various locations, including an apple orchard, but has evaded capture. Maes is prepared with a cage and net to catch Skippy, who is mostly active at night. He advises people to lure Skippy with fruit and to avoid chasing him, especially near roads, due to the animal's stress sensitivity. Maes hopes to reunite with Skippy soon and has reinforced his garden to prevent future escapes.
