Walking network in Waarbeke expands by 1.4 kilometers of slow roads: "For short walks or longer hikes"
In Waarbeke, near Geraardsbergen, two old footpaths have been reopened, expanding the network of slow roads by 1.4 kilometers. This includes a new walking bridge over the Waerbeek, allowing for both short and long walks in the surrounding landscape. The paths, Sentier 17 and Sentier 18, have been made accessible again, with 785 meters of unpaved road reopened. Additional works are planned for winter, including the removal of old barriers and the installation of new fencing for grazing. A map of various village walks is also being created to enhance walking opportunities for residents and visitors.
