Ceasefire in Ukrainian city of Oleshky is ending: what does that mean for the war?
A ceasefire in Olesjky allowed for the evacuation of residents amid dire humanitarian conditions. The six-day truce was facilitated by international appeals, including from Melania Trump and Pope Leo XIV. While nearly 800 people were evacuated, many remain trapped in isolated areas of Ukraine. There are no current plans for further ceasefires in other regions, and military leaders on both sides are using the pause to regroup. With winter approaching, discussions for a peace agreement are set for November 10 in Abu Dhabi.
